For the New Year, celebrate the stroke of midnight in Paris
Publish on Thursday, 10 December 2015 in Events
Paris, the city of glamour, turns on December 31st into the city of chic partying. Restaurants, cabarets, nightclubs as well as the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower put on a dazzling display of light by which to see in the New Year. This celebratory occasion offers the perfect opportunity to discover the capital at its most beautiful and Le Cler Hotel recommends it.
Paris illuminated
December is a time of light in the capital. From November 18th, 2015 to January 6th, 2016, festive illuminations turn the streets, buildings and shops into an enchanted fairyland of colour and cheer. We particularly recommend a visit to the Avenue Montaigne, the Place Vendome, a walk through the Montmartre district or Bercy Village. Every part of the city is lovingly decorated for this exciting time of year. You can even take a tour of the most glittering shop windows of Paris for a visual feast. The displays presented by the Galeries Lafayette department store are unmissable. At the foot of the Opéra Garnier, Parisians and tourists alike flock to see the automata in their winter colours come alive to the sound of chimes. The Champs Elysées also sparkles with a different visual theme each year, and this time around the decorations are eco-friendly, in keeping with the COP21 event. Bundled up in their coats, people large and small roam the streets with their noses in the air and their eyes filled with stars.
Festivities for all tastes
At this time of year, there’s no question of staying out of the action. Make the most of December 31st, and find the best place for you to count down to 2016. Paris is full of great places to see out the old and bring in the new. An intimate restaurant, a fun-filled cabaret, a pulsing nightclub; there's something for everyone. Comedians, singers and bands can be found performing in venues throughout the city on this special evening. The Latin Quarter promises special little corners full of charm, whereas the Montparnasse district will be bursting with a sassier kind of entertainment. However, set in a typical Parisian street, the Cler Hotel offers an oasis of calm. Located close to the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower, it is the perfect base from which to head out in search of New Year fun.
Tick tock tick tock, endless night and New year Eve
Don’t miss the Eiffel Tower! Illuminated for the occasion, it offers a splendid spectacle at the beginning of the night. In front of the Champs de Mars you’ll find concerts and entertainment that will last until morning. A must for all party animals! The Arc de Triomphe will present the spectacle of a projection mapping display at 23:50. Other places come to life with the ticking of the clock and the streets will be full until early morning. In the small hours those revellers with less stamina will slip away to bed, but there are always others with far too much energy. Some may still be at it as the sun rises on January 1st, 2016!
