Paris Beach and Cinema in the moonlight in Paris

Stay in the heart of Paris at the Cler Hotel and enjoy the variety of wonderful summer events in the capital. Among other fun, the capital’s beaches await your lounging pleasure during Paris Plages from July 19th to August 17th, 2015. Then in the evenings you can enjoy big screen delights by moonlight at the Festival du Cinema au Clair de Lune, an open-air movie festival which runs from July 30th to August 19th, 2015.
Paris Plages, a beach resort appointment not to be missed
It’s hard to believe, but it’s already the 13th season of Paris Plages. This year, as always, you will find a wide array of summer entertainment flourishing on the banks of the Seine, including sports, games, activities, concerts, workshops or simply sun kissed relaxation. It’s the best of the beach in the heart of the most beautiful city in the world! Paris Plages occupies three sites along the Seine: the Voie Georges Pompidou (1st and 4th arrondissements), the Bassin de la Villette (19th arrondissement) and the courtyard in front of City Hall (4th arrondissement). Vacationing at the Cler Hotel, you will be at the centre of the events and have a choice of beaches.
Note that at the Bassin de la Villette, the fun lasts an extra week, until August 24th. On each site there will be plenty to keep the children happy, with games, science workshops, storytelling sessions, giant puzzles, adventure trails, ukulele lessons and more. A great photo contest will be held on the forecourt of Notre-Dame. The winners will have their photograph displayed at City Hall, and there are iPads to win. There will be refreshment stands on the beaches and the safety of everyone enjoying the facilities is ensured. And there will be plenty of ice cream vendors to ensure you stay cool!
A Cinema Festival by moonlight
Having enjoyed the beach and a well deserved rest stop at the Cler Hotel, you have a choice of various neighbourhoods in which to enjoy open air cinema screenings. This year will see the fifteenth consecutive Festival du Cinema au Clair de Lune, organised by the Forum des Images. The programme offers a wide range of movies so that everyone can enjoy the seventh art with the stars overhead and on the big screen, too!
The programming includes films of yesterday and today, catering for the tastes of all moviegoers. 9 movies chosen by the Forum des Images and the City of Paris are offered to invite you to discover the best of French cinema. The screenings are free.
As the screenings take place at night, we recommend some warm clothing and maybe a snug blanket!
